We zijn al weer toe aan het derde deel van de stitch-along en dit wordt het vlak met de oranje basis en daarover een tralie.
Ik ben dit blok begonnen met een lijn te borduren 1 mm. van de geprinte lijn, in de veronderstelling dat ik die ruimte nodig had. Achteraf bleek dit te veel te zijn. Ik denk dat als je de steken net aan de binnenkant van de lijn plaatst, je ruimte genoeg overhoud voor de sierdraad. Je werkt met 2/1 F en naald nr. 8.

De eerste steek komt midden in het vlak, in de richting waarin je wilt borduren. Ik heb gekozen te borduren in dezelfde richting als de buitenlijn. Na de eerste lijn vul je eerst de ene helft van het vlak op en daarna de andere helft. Ik borduur altijd eerst de linkerkant, zodat ik niet met mijn hand over het al geborduurde vlak ga bij de tweede kant. Borduur niet te dicht, maar wel aan een gesloten. Laat aan de buitenlijn minder ruimte dan ik heb gedaan. Al die ruimte had ik niet nodig, ik heb dit zelfs nog moeten opvullen met een extra sierdraad.

Voor de tralie gebruik je #1 goud, een enkele draad en neem hiervoor naald nr. 9 of 10.
Het patroon wordt uitgezet met behulp van je driehoek. Als je goed naar de foto’s kijkt zie je dat het goud over de basis ligt in een hoek van 45° en de lijnen die het goud samen maken liggen in een hoek van  90° van elkaar. Leg je driehoek met de middenlijn op je basis en trek de eerste lijn met goud langs de zijkant. Leg dan de tweede lijn in 90° er op. De lijnen liggen 4 mm. uit elkaar. Vul het hele vlak.

Nu moet de tralie vastgezet worden. Maak steekjes van 2 tot 3 mm met goud #1, in de richting van je basis over de kruisingen. Werk van rechts naar links en van boven naar beneden.

We are ready to start the third part of the stitch-along and this will be the part with the orange foundation and the lattice holding.
I started this part with a stitched line, 1 mm. from the printed line, thinking that I needed this space later. In hind site this was too much space. I think that if you put your stitches just inside the printed line, you will have ample space for your decorative thread. Use 2/1 F and needle nr. 8.

The first stitch will be in the middle, in the direction that you want to stitch. I chose to stitch in the same direction as the outside line. After the first stitch you fill in one half of the space and then the other half. In always stitch the lefthand side first, so I don’t have to go over my stitching when I do the other half. Don’t put your stitches too close together, but make sure your threads close the space. Do not leave as much space at he outside line as I did. All this space was not needed, I had to fill it in with an extra decorative thread.

For the lattice you use #1 gold, single thread and use needle nr. 9 or 10.
The pattern is made by using your triangle. If you look at the photos you’ll see that the gold is on a 45° angle to the foundation and the lines of gold are on a 90° angle. Place the triangle with hte middle line in the same direction as you foundation and put in your first gold line allong the side of the triangle. The second line will be on the 90° angle to the first one. The lines ar 4 mm apart. Fill in the entire space.

Now you have to secure the lattice. Make stitches of 2 to 3 mm with gold #1, in the direction of the foundation over the crossings. Work from right to left and from top to bottom.
